Depression is a condition where a person feels an oppressing sadness and melancholy. This intense sadness that a person feels in his state of depression can drive a person mad or can be disruptive to the life of the individual. There are many different treatments for depression. There are chemical drugs which are formulated to chemically alter the sate of a person’s mind. Psychotherapy is also an option for treating depression. There are also some herbs for depression that can help in a natural way.

In fact, using herbs and alternative medicine will be better, since the other methods of treating depression may have dangerous side effects. Herbs can alleviate the state of suffering from depression.

What are the Different Kinds of Herbs for Depression?

Licorice is considered one of the more effective herbs for treating depression. Really, it can affect the mood of an individual and overcomes depression. This herb acts as MOA inhibitor to be able to change the mood.

Saint John’s Wort is another herb for depression. This herb has been around for centuries and has long been used to treat depression and anxiety in people. This herb for depression is sometimes more effective than other chemical drugs and medication for depression and can also have fewer side effects than these chemical drugs.

The other helper herb of alleviation the mood of an individual is Ginkgo Biloba. It is a blood-effecter by increasing the blood circulation. It pushes the blood in the brain and the result will be a mind alerted and free of depression.

Anther herb that shows a great possibility in treatment is called Siberian Ginseng. It is a MAO inhibitor that treats depression well. It causes the equilibrium to the neurotransmitter in the brain.
